The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade vide order dated 1st January, 2024 has issued the Electrical Accessories (Quality Control) Order, 2023. The following electrical accessories shall bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards:
- Boxes and Enclosures for Electrical Accessories for Household and Similar Fixed Electrical Installations.
- Cable Trunking and Ducting Systems for Electrical Installations – Cable Trunking and Ducting Systems Intended for Mounting on Walls or Ceiling.
- Bayonet Lamp Holders
- Switch-socket-outlets (non-interlock type)
- Live Working Gloves of Insulating Material
- Insulating Mats for Electrical Purposes
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for these goods or articles. Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
