The Central Government vide notification dated 4th November, 2022 has issued the draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2022. Objections or suggestions on the proposals contained in the draft notification may be sent for consideration of the Central Government within 60 days to the Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, Jor Bagh Road, New Delhi – 110 003, to the email address: mscb.cpcb@nic.in and sonu.singh@gov.in.
The amendment proposes that the hot mix plants shall follow the The Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rules, 2000 under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and workers shall be provided with personal protective equipments. SPCBs/ PCCs may decide the size& capacity to permit hot mix plants based on available technology and prevailing environmental conditions.
