The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) issued a draft notification to amend the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Particulars and Manner of their Display on Labels of Room Air Conditioners) Regulation 2017. This draft amendment regulation is referred to as the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Particulars and Manner of their Display on Labels of Room Air Conditioners), Amendment Regulation, 2024.
The draft notification was issued on June 6, 2024.
The draft amendments seek to introduce new specifications for the “Particulars to be displayed on labels of room air conditioner”, specifically replacing the existing figures, letters, and words for label design, dimension, colour scheme, and the complete specimen of a printed label for room air conditioner.
Stakeholders are requested to submit any objections or suggestions on these draft amendments within 30 days of the publication of this notification. These objections or suggestions may be sent to the Director-General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, 4th Floor, Sewa Bhawan, Sector-1, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066.
