Government of Tamil Nadu has issued draft amendment to the Tamil Nadu Legal Metrology (Enforcement) Rules, 2011. Objection or suggestion, if any, should be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Labor Welfare and Skill Development Department, Chennai-600 009 through the Commissioner of Labor, Chennai-600 006 in duplicate.
The amendment has provided following revised rates for obtaining and renewing the license for manufacturers, repairers and dealers of weights and measures:
- Manufacturer Rs. 6000/- per year
- Repairer Rs. 2250/- per year
- Dealer Rs. 750/- per year
- Alteration of License: Rs. 150/-
- Issue of duplicate license: Rs. 75/-
The amendment has also revised certain standards for manufacture of weights and measures.
