Discontinuation Of Atal Amrit Abhiyan By Government Of Assam

The Government of Assam on July 8th 2024, notified regarding the discontinuation of Atal Amrit Abhiyan in the state .

The Assam government launched the Atal Amrit Abhiyan (AAA) to address the vulnerability faced by the BPL and low-income households in the State. The Atal Amrit Abhiyan provided cashless treatment and coverage of critical care for the BPL and low-income households. It provided affordable medical treatment and limited the disastrous financial impact that the households experience for medical expenditure.

Ayushman Asom – Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which commenced in May 2023, has been introduced to extend cashless medical benefits to eligible beneficiaries. As this new scheme stabilizes and expands its services, the Atal Amrit Abhiyan has been discontinued in the state of Assam effective from October 31, 2023. This transition is aimed at streamlining healthcare benefits and ensuring comprehensive coverage under the new scheme.

The following has been stated:

  1. All the pre-authorizations and claims under AAA raised before 31st October, 2023 will be processed for payments as per the guidelines of the scheme.
  2. The pre-authorizations and claims raised after October 31st ,2023 will not be considered for payments. The discontinuation is with effect from October 31st, 2023.
