The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced that the Director-General of Health Services (DGHS) has assumed the charge of President of the Dental Council of India (DCI), effective from February 24, 2025. This decision was published on February 25, 2025, and comes as an interim measure until the National Dental Commission is constituted or until further orders are issued.
The Ministry’s Order authorizes the DGHS, Member of the DCI and Member of the Executive Committee will discharge the functions of the President of the DCI.
Hence, Prof. (Dr.) Atul Goel, Director-General of Health Services, will now serve as the President of the DCI. This interim appointment is intended to ensure the continued functioning of the DCI during a period of transition.
