Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on 1st September 2023 has directed all the FSSAI Notified laboratories to comply with the following to optimize their facilities and procedures to handle organic testing efficiently and accurately:
- To review their current capabilities and take the necessary steps to enhance the infrastructure and scope of the testing for organic products.
- To make an application to APEDA for authorization as one of its laboratories by submission of the accreditation certificate and scope details. The lab shall also indicate the inclusion in the list of laboratories for organic product.
- To apply to National Referral Laboratory of APEDA for proficiency testing Programme/competence assessment in order to qualify for pre export testing of organic products.
