DGFT permits the export of certain non-woven fabric used for making masks and coveralls.

The Director General of Foreign Trade vide its notification dated 18th August 2020 has lifted the prohibition on export of all non-woven fabric used for the production of masks and coveralls. However, the export of melt-blown fabric of any GSM (grams per square metre) continues to be banned.

DGFT in its earlier notification dated 13th July 2020 has amended that only melt blown fabric of any GSM exported against the HS codes specified where prohibited for export and all other non-woven fabrics of any GSM (including of GSM 25-70 which were earlier prohibited) are freely allowed for exports.
