DGFT has revised the policy condition of coal importing monitoring system.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade on 7th November 2022, has revised policy condition No 7 under the coal importing monitoring system. Through which it has notified that the importer can apply for registration not earlier than 60th day and not later than 5 days before the expected date of arrival of import consignment.

The Automatic Registration Number shall remain valid for a period of 75 days. The importer shall have to enter the Registration Number and expiry date of Registration in the Bill of Entry to enable Customs for clearance of consignment.

Coal Import Monitoring System (CIMS) shall require importers to submit advance information in an online system for import of Steam Coal. On submission of online data/information, the system will generate an automatic unique Registration Number. No manual documents are to be submitted to any public authority for this purpose.
