The Directorate General of Foreign Trade vide its notification dated 23rd March 2022 has extended the timeline from 31st March 2022 to 30th September 2022 to install and operationalise radiation portal monitors and container scanners in designated sea ports.
DGFT has amended sub-para (v) (ii) of Para 2.54 of the Handbook of Procedure (2015-2020) and extends the deadline to install and operationalize Radiation Portal monitors and Container Scanners by September 30, 2022.
Further the Sea ports which fail to meet the deadline will be derecognized for the purpose of import of un-shredded metallic scrap.
