DGFT extends deadline for export of broken rice

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade vide circular dated 27.09.2022 has extended the deadline for export of broken rice. India banned export of broken rice and imposed a 20% duty on exports of various other types on September 8, 2022 over food security concerns.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade earlier allowed rice exports till 15 September 2022, if loading began prior to the order, and in cases where the shipping bill has been filed and vessels have arrived at their destination. This deadline was extended till 30 September, 2022 and is now further extended till October 15, 2022.
