DGFT bans Export of COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing kits.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade vide its notification dated 16th August 2021 has restricted the export of COVID-19 Rapid Antigen testing kits. The restrictions are aimed at increasing the domestic availability of the kits.

Earlier, exports of rapid antigen testing kits were allowed without any restrictions, however, through this notification, exporters will now require a license from the DGFT for outbound shipments.

The rapid antigen test kits are used to detect the presence of the novel coronavirus and the test kits includes VTM kits, RNA extraction kits, RT-PCR kits and reagents, 15mn falcon tube, beads, probes (specific for Covid-19 testing), and reverse transcriptase enzymes.
