Delhi Government issues Order for transfer of un-expired beer stock by hotel, clubs & restaurants

The Excise Department of the Delhi Government has issued an Order for transfer of un-expired beer stock by hotel, clubs & restaurants in view of the extraordinary situation arisen out of the spread of COVID-19 and consequent closure/lockdown of the same.

Considering the fact that beers have limited shelf life of around 6 months, after which the same get expired leading to further financial losses to the licensee, the competent authority was pleased to grant one-time relaxation to licensees of hotels, clubs, restaurants holding excise licence L-15/L-15F,16/L-16F, L-17/L-17F, L-18/L-18, L-19/L-19F, L-28/L28F&L-29/L-29F to transfer their unexpired beer stock, expiring up to 30 June, to other retail licensees.

Delhi Government issued the order after many representations was received requesting the government to allow them to transfer or sell off the stock of beer lying unsold in hotels/restaurants and clubs and will expire soon.
