The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has extended the deadline for nursing educational institutions to renew their suitability for the 2024-2025 academic year. This notification was dated April 16, 2024.
It may be recalled that INC had invited online application for renewal of suitability of Nursing Educational Institutions for Academic Year 2024-2025. This invitation was issued on January 12, 2024 and a deadline of March 20, 2024 was provided for submitting these applications.
Subsequently, the INC, by a notification dated March 28, 2024, had extended the deadline for renewal applications. It had fixed this new deadline as April 12, 2024. However, by the present notification INC has decided to further extend the deadline once again to May 6, 2024.
New Application Window and Late Fee
The INC portal will reopen for application submissions from April 20, 2024, to May 6, 2024 (15 days). A late fee of Rs. 10,000/- will be applicable for all applications submitted during this extended window.
How to Apply
Nursing institutions can access the renewal application form by logging into the INC website and selecting “Application for renewal of suitability ‘2024-25” under Institute Login S.No 1.
Strict Deadline and Potential Consequences
The INC emphasizes that applications will not be accepted after May 6, 2024. Institutions that fail to meet this deadline may face action under Sections 13 and 14 of the INC Act, 1947.
This extension provides nursing schools with additional time to complete their renewal applications. However, it is crucial for institutions to submit their applications by the new deadline to avoid potential penalties or consequences.
