The Dental Council of India (DCI) has issued a notice regarding the last date for uploading details of students joining BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) programs for the academic year 2024-25. This information was published through a notice dated November 20, 2024.
It may be recalled that as per the special schedule published by DCI, students admitted through the All India Quota (AIQ)/Deemed/Central Universities counseling must join their BDS program by November 30, 2024. Students admitted through State Counseling have a slightly later deadline of December 5, 2024.
Therefore, all dental colleges are required to upload the details of admitted students on the DCI website by these respective deadlines. This includes student names, program details, and other relevant information.
Uploading details of students not genuinely admitted to the college is strictly prohibited. The DCI will take action against colleges found violating this rule.
Only students whose details are uploaded to the DCI portal will be eligible for registration with their respective State Dental Councils/Tribunals for their BDS degree.
Consequences of Missing Deadlines:
- Students who fail to join their program by the designated deadline risk losing their seat.
- Colleges that miss the deadline for uploading student details may face penalties from the DCI.
Dental colleges can contact the DCI for technical support at secy-dci@nic.in or by calling 011-40194297.
This deadline ensures a smooth transition for admitted students and facilitates the registration process for their BDS degree. It also promotes transparency and accountability within the dental education system.
