The DCI has framed ‘DCI Regulations on curbing the Menace of Ragging in Dental Colleges, 2009’ in order to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging in dental colleges I institutions. All the dental colleges must take following necessary steps for its implementation under intimation to the DCI:
- Zero Tolerance Policy: The DCI has implemented a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
- Reporting of Ragging Incident: Institutions are required to maintain a clear and accessible
reporting system. Any ragging incidents should be reported to the institution’s authorities
immediately. - Awareness Initiatives: Dental colleges should conduct awareness campaigns about the harmful
effects of ragging and to promote a culture of inclusivity and respect frequently. - Support for Victims: Institutions should provide counseling and support services for victims of
ragging, ensuring their safety and well-being.
The Dental Council of India urge all stakeholders — dental colleges, students, faculty, and parents — to collaborate in creating a safe and respectful educational environment.
