The Dental Council of India (DCI) has issued a notice to all dental colleges on provisional registration of BDS students before internship. This notice was issued on 28th June, 2023.
The DCI has directed that the principals of all dental colleges in the country should allow compulsory rotary internship of BDS students only after ensuring that the certificate of provisional registration is issued by the respective state dental councils.
It may be recalled that the DCI had previously received several requests from students and dental colleges regarding the hardships they faced in getting themselves registered with the state councils without provisional registration.
Therefore upon deliberations, the DCI has issued the present directions for smooth implementation of provisional registrations.
