The Minister of Higher Education and Social Justice announced the inaugural Young Innovators Technical Summit (Y-Summit 2024) aimed at fostering innovation among polytechnic college students and addressing societal issues through technology. The event, organized by the Young Innovation Clubs under the Directorate of Technical Education, will run from February 22 to 24 at Kalamassery Govt Polytechnic. Y-Summit 2024 will showcase innovative projects from around eighty polytechnics, facilitating industry interactions through an Industry-Institute Meetup inaugurated by the Industry Minister. With about fifty-five projects from polytechnics and twenty-five from engineering colleges, the technical exhibition will engage 200 students. Additionally, the summit will feature a technology-friendly program to tackle social, economic, and environmental challenges, promoting collective discussions and paper presentations. The event aims to modernize technical education, aligning students with industry needs and fostering societal change through advanced technologies like AI and IT, ultimately enhancing employment prospects.
