SEBI has issued a Consultation Paper on Proposed Legal Provisions for Summary Proceedings. The objective of this consultation paper is to seek comments from public on proposed legal changes in the SEBI (Intermediaries) Regulations, 2008 for inclusion of the provisions for the summary proceedings to handle the cases of certain violations of the securities laws by Intermediaries, in a faster and more efficient manner and thereby enhancing the Board’s ability to act swiftly in protecting the interest of investors and maintaining integrity, transparency and efficiency of the securities market.
The comments are invited on the proposals in the consultation paper. The comments/ suggestions should be submitted latest by August 06, 2024.
