The Chandigarh labour Department in its notification dated 3rd June 2020 has relaxed the provisions of the Factories Act, 1948, to extend the maximum working hours 12 hours a day and 72 hours a week. from the existing nine hours for optimum utilization of labor.
The factories have also been directed to adhere to all precautionary measures advised by the Centre and the state government for maintaining sanitation and social distancing.
Further, the female workers shall be allowed to work in a factory between 7. pm to 6. am. The orders shall be in force for three months. The workers shall be provided an interval of at least half an hour after six hours of continuous work
