Central Government Sets Date for Enforcing Key Provisions of National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Act, 2023

The Central Government has taken a step towards the implementation of the National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Act, 2023. The government has appointed February 29, 2024, as the date on which several crucial provisions of the Act will come into effect. This notification was issued on March 1, 2024.

The Act, passed in 2023, aims to modernize and strengthen the regulatory framework governing nursing and midwifery practices in the country. It seeks to ensure high standards of education, training, and professional conduct among nursing and midwifery professionals, thereby enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to the public.
