Central Government Grants Authorization for Sale of Fermented Organic Manure

The Central Government has authorized 14 manufacturers of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) and Liquid Fermented Organic Manure (LFOM) to directly sell in bulk to farmers for a period of three years. This authorization comes into effect from March 15, 2024.

This decision promotes use of organic fertilizers, which are essential for enhancing soil health, improving crop yield, and reducing reliance on chemical-based fertilizers.

By allowing select manufacturers to sell FOM and LFOM directly to farmers, the government aims to streamline the supply chain and make these organic inputs more accessible to agricultural communities across the country. This initiative is expected to benefit farmers by providing them with access to high-quality organic manure while also supporting the growth of the organic farming sector.

The authorized manufacturers will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability of Fermented Organic Manure and Liquid Fermented Organic Manure to farmers, thereby contributing to the promotion of sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.

Farmers are encouraged to explore the use of organic fertilizers as part of their agricultural practices, leveraging the benefits of these natural inputs to improve soil fertility, crop nutrition, and overall farm productivity.
