Central Government extends the ESI Act to all the areas of East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts in the State of Meghalaya

The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide notification dated 24 March, 2023, has made certain provisions of Employees State Insurance Act, 1948 applicable to following areas:

1. All the areas of East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts in the State of Meghalaya .

The following provisions are made applicable:

1. Sections 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 and sections 45A to 45H Chapter IV : The chapter deals with the contribution made to the employee.
2. Sections 46 to 73 of Chapter V: The chapter deals with Benefits provides to the employees covered under the Act.
3. Chapter VI which deals with Adjudication of Dispute and Claims.

The provisions shall commence w.e.f 1st April, 2023
