The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has announced a further step in its ongoing transition to e-governance. This move follows its push for online applications for cosmetics registration and import via the SUGAM portal. This circular was issued on February 12, 2025.
The CDSCO has now added a new online module specifically for applications and permissions related to additional variants of already-approved cosmetic products.
Online Applications for Additional Variants
This new feature, available on the SUGAM portal, will streamline the process for manufacturers and importers seeking approval for variations of existing cosmetic products.
The new module will be implemented and available for use from February 22, 2025.
The CDSCO is urging all stakeholders in the cosmetics industry to take note of this new provision and utilize the SUGAM online portal for all applications related to additional variants of approved cosmetic products. This shift to online applications is expected to improve efficiency and reduce processing times for these types of requests.
