The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has notified COVID-19 vaccines approved for manufacture for sale or for distribution in India. It has notified this list on 26th July, 2023.
The CDSCO has approved the following vaccines for manufacture for sale or distribution in the country:
- ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 Corona Virus vaccine Recombinant (COVISHIELD) and
- Whole-Virion Inactivated SARSCoV-2 Vaccine (COVAXIN)
It may be recalled that initially COVISHIELD & COVAXIN vaccines were approved for restricted use in Emergency Situation in the country on 3rd January, 2021. The CDSCO has now approved the manufacture for sale or distribution of these vaccines in the country.
Additionally, it has approved 15 more COVID-19 vaccines for Primary vaccination series for Restricted Use in Emergency Situation in the country.
