The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation on 13th September 2021 has issued a notification classifying medical devices pertaining to General Hospital under the provisions of Medical Devices Rules, 2017.
The Drug Controller General has classified 57medical devices related to General Hospital which includes Electrically powered spinal fluid pressure monitor, Apgar timer, Clinical color change thermometer, Manual adjustable hospital bed, Medical bassinet etc.
These medical devices are classified into risk category A, B and C which is enlisted in the notification along with its intended use.
