The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs vide its notification dated 5th May 2020 has extended the validity of electronic way (E-way) bill, generated on or before 24th march 2020 till 31st May 2020.
E-way bill is produced by transporters and businessmen before goods and services Tax inspector for moving goods worth over of Rs.50, 000 from one state to another.
CBIC in its earlier circular dated 3rd April 2020 has extended the time till 30th April 2020 for the bills generated during the period 20th day of March 2020 to the 15th day of April, 2020, to the 15th day of April 2020. However, due to the continuous lockdown situation, CBIC has extended the validity period until 31st May 2020.
