CBIC extends the facility of 24×7 Customs clearance at all the Customs formations due to the outbreak of COVID-19

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs vide its notification dated 1st June 2020 has extended the 24×7 customs clearance facility at all seaports and airports by a month till June 2020.

CBIC in its earlier circular dated 20th February 2020 has directed to introduce 24×7 Customs clearance at all the Customs formations to address any congestion or delay or surge on account of the prevailing conditions due to outbreak of COVID- 19.

However the situation of COVID-19 pandemic is still prevailing and trade continues to face challenges. CBIC has thereby decided to extend the facility of 24×7 Customs clearance at all the Customs formations till June 30, 2020. Further, designated Sea Ports/Airports already under 24×7 operations shall continue to function even after June 30, 2020, and a record may also be maintained of the BEs/SBs filed beyond the normal office hours, station wise.
