The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs vide notification dated January 28, 2021 has extended the increased duty imposed on goods originating in South Korea to Polybutadiene rubber excluding titanium and lithium grades. The Bilateral Safeguard Investigation concluded on 22 October, 2020 that there is an increase in import of goods from Korea under the India-Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and this has caused damage to domestic industry. As a Bilateral Safeguard measure increased rate of customs duty was imposed on a list of goods originating from Korea. The Polybutadiene rubber excluding titanium and lithium grades is included in the list by this notification.
