CBDT extends the time limit of certain compliances to provide relief to taxpayers in view of the severe pandemic.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes vide its notification dated 20th May 2021 has extended the  time limit for furnishing statement of financial transactions (SFT) by companies to 30th June, 2021 from earlier deadline of May 31, it has also extended the ITR filing deadline for companies by a month till 30th  November 2021.

As per the income tax law, for individuals whose accounts are not required to be audited and who usually file their income tax return using ITR-1 or ITR-4 forms the deadline to file ITR is July 31.

The due date of furnishing of Return of Income for the Assessment Year 2021-22, which is 30th November 2021 is extended to 31″t December 2021

The TDS/TCS Book Adjustment Statement in Form No 24G for the month of May 2021 , required to be furnished on or before 15th June 2021 under Rule 30 and Rule 37CA of the Rules, shall be furnished on or before 30th June 2021.

The tax department has also given more time to taxpayers who are already late in filing their returns. So, the due date of furnishing of belated/revised Return of Income for the Assessment Year 2021-22, which is 31 December, 2021 has been extended to 31 January, 2022.
