The Government of Gujarat on 21st February, 2024 published a notification on Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Green Energy Open Access) Regulations, 2024. The notification provides comprehensive regulations for facilitating green energy open access in Gujarat, encompassing various aspects such as eligibility criteria, application procedures, charges, banking facility, energy accounting, and settlement, with the objective of promoting non-discriminatory access to the state’s transmission and distribution systems for green energy generators and consumers.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Technical Standards and Specifications including Safety Standards for City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Amendment Regulations, 2024

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) issued a notification from the detailing amendments to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Technical Standards and Specifications including Safety Standards for City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Regulations, 2008, with key changes including regulations related to compression facilities and pipeline connections within authorized geographical areas.

Electricity (Rights of Consumers) Amendment Rules

The amendments empower consumers living in multistoried flats in choosing their connection type and ensure separate billing for common areas and back-up generators in residential societies, thus enhancing transparency. The amendments also provide for check meters to be installed by distribution company in case of consumer complaints, to verify electricity consumption.

Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code and Related Matters) (14th Amendment) Regulations, 2024.

The draft notification by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission presents a detailed set of amendments to the existing regulations governing electricity supply in the state. These amendments aim to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of processes related to feasibility clearance, connection release, deposit of charges, and load revision, reflecting the commission’s commitment to ensuring a robust regulatory framework for the electricity sector in Punjab.

The Fifth Amendment to Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Tariff for Wheeling and Retail Sale of Electricity) Regulation, 2005

The erstwhile APERC (Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission) of the undivided Andhra Pradesh State notified the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Tariff for Wheeling and Retail Sale of Electricity) Regulation, 2005 (Regulation 4 of 2005) (hereinafter referred to as “the Principal Regulation”) which was published in the AP Extraordinary Gazette on 14.11.2005. The first amendment to the Principal Regulation was notified in the AP Extraordinary Gazette on 07.03.2014 (Regulation 1 of 2014) by the erstwhile APERC.
