Jharkhand Government Updates On Vehicles Registration under Bharat (BH) Series
The Jharkhand Government issued a notification regarding the implementation of the Central Motor Vehicles (20th Amendment) Rules, 2021, and the Central Motor Vehicles (23rd Amendment) Rules, 2022, aimed at facilitating the transfer of vehicles across India. A new BH series/ Bharat Series or BH Number Plate Registration Number has been introduced for registration of non-transport vehicles. This registration in the BH series is optional.
Rationalizing Parking Charges For Private Vehicles In NCR
The CAQM has urged Urban Local Bodies to disincentivize private vehicles by way of rationalizing the parking charges. This endeavor shall be completed and implemented expeditiously, but not later than 30.08.2024 and a compliance report must be submitted to the Commission.

Central Motor Vehicles (Seventh Amendment) Rules, 2024
The amendment provides that the Director of Industries or Director of Transport may be nominated as the registering authority in case the State/ Union Territory does not have a position equivalent to Commissioner of Industries or Commissioner of Transport and the registering authority shall be empowered to issue Preliminary Registration Certificate, issue and renewal of Registration Certificate under this chapter for the registration of Automated Testing Stations.
Central Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Amendment Rules, 2024
The Registered Scrapper shall ensure timely conduct of audit of the Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility by any of the agencies specified under rule 126 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 to undertake a regulatory and compliance audit and audit of the mass flow statement as maintained in Form- by the Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility.

Government issues Scheme Guidelines for Pilot Projects on use of Green Hydrogen in the Transport Sector
The scheme will support development of technologies for use of Green Hydrogen as a fuel in Buses, Trucks and 4-wheelers, based on fuel cell-based propulsion technology / internal combustion engine-based propulsion technology. The other thrust area for the scheme is to support development of infrastructure such as hydrogen refuelling stations.
