Central Motor Vehicles (Third Amendment) Rules, 2022

On and after six months from the date of commencement of the Central Motor Vehicles (Third Amendment) Rules, 2022, Special Purpose Vehicle, viz. Cash Vans, manufactured by Original Equipment Manufacturers, shall comply with the requirements of AIS-163, as amended from time to time, till the corresponding BIS specifications are notified under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016

The Draft Inland Vessels [Prevention and Containment of Pollution] Rules 2022.

As per the Draft rules, No inland vessel shall be issued with the Prevention of Pollution Certificate envisaged under the Act by the Designated Authority, unless such vessel complies with requirements and standards for pollution prevention and containment including the physical design of the inland vessel or facilities that the inland vessel must carry, or those which are operational or procedural in nature, which the inland vessel is required to comply with, under these Rules.

The Draft Inland Vessels [Life Saving Appliances] Rules 2022.

As per the Draft Rules, The owner/operator and master of any new inland vessel, shall ensure that the vessel is constructed, maintained and operated in accordance with the requirements of these Rules and that the vessel is suitable for its intended service.

The Draft Inland Vessels (Fire Fighting Appliances) Rules 2022.

The owner/operator and master of any new inland vessel, shall ensure that the vessel is constructed, maintained and operated under the requirements of these rules and the vessel is suitable for its intended service. No new inland vessel shall be issued with the certificate of survey under the Act and the Inland Vessels (Survey and Certification) Rules, 2022, unless such vessel complies with the safety requirements including the physical design of the inland vessel or equipment that the inland vessel must carry, or those which are operational or procedural in nature.

The Shipping Bill (Post export conversion in relation to instrument based scheme) Regulations, 2022.

The application for conversion shall be filed in writing within a period of one year from the date of order for clearance of goods. Provided that the jurisdictional Commissioner of Customs, having regard to the circumstance under which the exporter was prevented from applying within the said period of one year, may consider and decide, for reasons to be recorded in writing, to extend the aforesaid period of one year by a further period of six months.

The Inland Vessels (Safe Navigation, Communication and Signals) Draft Rules 2022.

No new inland vessel shall be issued with the certificate of survey under the Act and the Inland Vessels (Survey and Certification) Rules, 2022, unless such vessel complies with requirements related to Safe Navigation, Communication and Signals including the physical design of the inland vessel or equipment that the inland vessel must carry, or those which are operational or procedural in nature.

Central Government commences operation of Inland Vessels Act, 2021

The Act shall govern all mechanically propelled vessels registered or registered in such laws in force in any country other than India; but endorsed or recognised under this Act for the purpose of plying within inland waterways, special category vessels plying or using inland waterways and all non-mechanically propelled inland vessels.
