CCPA issues Advisory to e-commerce platforms on sale of Ayurvedic, Siddha and Unani drugs.
Under Section 18 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, CCPA is empowered to protect, promote and enforce the rights of consumers as a class, and prevent violation of consumers’ rights. Further, CCPA is empowered to prevent unfair trade practices and ensure that no person engages himself in unfair trade practices.
Centre directs leading Edible Oil Associations to reduce prices by Rs. 15 with immediate effect.
The reduction in oil prices came in the wake of Central Government reducing the import duty on edible oils making them cheaper. The industry was advised to ensure that the complete benefit of the reduced duty is passed on to the consumers invariably.
CCPA issues guidelines for preventing unfair trade practices and violation of consumer rights with regard to levying of service charge in hotels and restaurants.
If any consumer finds that a hotel or restaurant is levying service charge in violation to the guidelines, a consumer may make a request to the concerned hotel or restaurant to remove service charge from the bill amount. Also, the consumer may lodge a complaint on the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), which works as an alternate dispute redressal mechanism at the pre-litigation level by calling 1915 or through the NCH mobile app.
MHA extends the validity of FCRA registration certificate till 30th September 2022.
The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) mandates every person or NGO seeking to receive foreign donations to be registered under the Act and it shall utilise those funds only for the purpose for which they have been received and as stipulated in the Act. The registration is valid for five years at first, after which it can be renewed if all requirements are met.

Ministry of Information & Broadcasting issues advisory to digital media to refrain from advertising online betting platforms.
Betting and gambling, illegal in most parts of the country, pose significant financial and socio-economic risk for the consumers, especially youth and children, the advisory states. It has further added that these advertisements on online betting have the effect of promoting this largely prohibited activity.
The Guidelines for Prevention of Misleading Advertisements and Endorsements for Misleading Advertisements, 2022.
The guidelines shall apply to all advertisements regardless of form, format or medium and to manufacturer, service provider or trader whose goods, product or service is the subject of an advertisement, or to an advertising agency or endorser whose service is availed for the advertisement of such goods, product or service.

The State Government of Haryana, has made it obligatory on the part of the employers of any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other establishments to grant holiday on 19th June 2022 to their workmen who are entitled to cast vote in the general elections of municipal councils and committee.
Government of Goa has revised the “Shetkari Adhar Nidhi” Scheme.
The farmer who has suffered losses shall be eligible for the benefit under Shetkari Adhar Nidhi Scheme. Farmer shall be the one, cultivating the land with valid Krishi Card. NGO’s/Self Help Groups/Farmers Clubs/ Institutes and Organizations engaged in agricultural activities with valid Krishi Card issued by the Government shall be covered under the scheme.
Government of Goa amends the eligibility criteria under Bhasha Puraskar Yojana.
As per the amendment, any person of Goan origin residing in Goa for last 50 years and contributed his work for propagating language by way of teaching, translation, writing, lecturing etc. However, in a special case Government may relax these criteria considering the nature of work of the concerned scholar as and when no suitable nomination received.
