Government of India Dismisses Misleading Claims About OTT Smoking Warnings
In an effort to prioritize public health, the Indian government has extended the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (COTP) film rules to OTT platforms. The OTT Rules 2023 came into effect on September 1, 2023. Under these rules, all OTT platforms, including popular services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + Hotstar, Jio Cinema, Sony LIV, ALTBalaji, and Voot, are now required to display anti-tobacco health spots, prominent static messages, and audio-visual disclaimers highlighting the ill-effects of tobacco use as specified in the rules.
Inclusion of QR Codes on Food Products for Accessibility by Visually Impaired Individuals
FSSAI suggests that one effective means of facilitating easy access to nutritional information for visually impaired individuals is to incorporate Quick Response (QR) codes on product labels. These QR codes should include product details such as ingredients, nutritional information, allergens and their warning, manufacturing date, best before/ expiry/ use by date and contact information for customer inquiries.

Online registrations for Yuva Sangam (Phase III)

Government of west Bengal releases funds under infrastructure development schemes
