The Union Government has approved a scheme to promote India as a manufacturing destination so that e-vehicles (EV) with the latest technology can be manufactured in the country. The policy is designed to attract investments in the e-vehicle space by reputed global EV manufacturers.

Government issues Scheme Guidelines for Pilot Projects on use of Green Hydrogen in the Transport Sector
The scheme will support development of technologies for use of Green Hydrogen as a fuel in Buses, Trucks and 4-wheelers, based on fuel cell-based propulsion technology / internal combustion engine-based propulsion technology. The other thrust area for the scheme is to support development of infrastructure such as hydrogen refuelling stations.

Phase-II Hyderabad Metro Rail Proposals
Telangana Chief Minister reviewed Phase-II Hyderabad Metro Rail proposals on Tuesday. After a detailed presentation by HMRL MD, the Chief Minister directed him that the expansion proposals shall cater to major parts of the city and shall serve maximum number of commuters. He asked the MD to refine Phase-II proposals in coordination with Commissioner, HMDA. On the proposal of HMRL to widen the road from Darulshifa Jn to Shalibanda Jn in the Old city Metro Rail stretch, the Chief Minister desired that the feasibility of widening the road from Darulshifa Jn upto Falaknuma Jn to 100 ft shall be examined, in consultation with the public representatives of the Old city.

Tenure of Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Components extended by One Year with partial amendments
Under the amended scheme, the incentive will be applicable for a total of five consecutive financial years, starting from the financial year 2023-24. The disbursement of the incentive will take place in the following financial year 2024-25. The scheme also specifies that an approved applicant will be eligible for benefits for five consecutive financial years, but not beyond the financial year ending on March 31, 2028.
Cycle and Rickshaw Tyres and Tubes (Quality Control) Order, 2023
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles. Any person who contravenes the provisions of this Order shall be punishable under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
Vehicle Scrapping Policy formulated for creation of an ecosystem to phase out unfit and polluting vehicles in an environment friendly manner
As per the provisions of the Vehicle Scrapping Policy, State Governments are empowered to issue Registration Certificate for Automated Testing Stations and Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities. The owner or operator of any automated testing station shall be the State Government or any company or association or body of individuals or individual or special purpose vehicle either directly or through Public Private Partnership.
