The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has issued the Cast Iron Products (Quality Control) Order, 2024. This order mandates stricter quality control measures for domestically manufactured cast iron products. It has come into effect June 21, 2024.

Telangana RERA Issues Deadline For Submission Of Quarterly Progress Reports

The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority has issued a circular requiring promoters to submit their quarterly progress reports within 15 days of each quarter’s end, as mandated by the Real Estate Act, 2016, and Telangana Real Estate Rules, 2017. Promoters who fail to comply may face a penalty of up to 5% of the project’s estimated cost under Section 61 of the Real Estate Act, 2016. All pending reports must be submitted by the end of June 2024 to avoid penalties.

Government Monitors Wheat Prices To Prevent Hoarding Of Stocks

The Department of Food and Public Distribution is closely monitoring wheat prices to ensure market stability and prevent hoarding. As of January 1, 2024, wheat stocks were well above the prescribed buffer norm. Currently, there are no plans to alter import duties on wheat.

Haryana Government Issues Amendment In Haryana Right To Information Rules, 2009

The Haryana government re-emphasised on the earlier introduced FORM-A, requiring RTI applicants to provide proof of identity, as per the Haryana Right to Information (Amendment) Rules, 2021. The government has found that public authorities are not adhering to the rules, and some State Public Information Officers are processing applications without this requirement. The rules should be brought to the notice of all First Appellate Authorities/State Public Information Officers.

Seed Import To Get Easier In India

Previously, seeds of coarse cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fodder plants, and fruit species could only be imported based on the recommendations of EXIM Committee of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW). Now, by the present amendment order, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has eliminated this requirement.

Pellet Plants Now Require Prior Environmental Clearance

The amendment has introduced Pellet plants in the List of Projects or Activities Requiring Prior Environmental Clearance. Pellet Plant is now added as a new primary processing category within this list. The amendment specifies that all standalone pellet plants, regardless of capacity, are categorized as Category B subject to general conditions.

New Draft Rules To Protect Camels During Transportation in India

During hot weather between 12 deg. C to 30 deg. C, camels must be transported at night to minimize heatstroke risk. A valid health certificate as specified in Schedule M shall accompany with each consignment camels and a certificate as specified in Schedule L shall accompany each consignment of poultry.

Draft Rules On Radar Equipment For The Measurement Of The Speed Of Vehicles

These draft rules called as Legal Metrology (General) (Amendment) Rules, 2024 state that all radar equipment for measuring vehicle speed must be verified and stamped within one year of installation. The construction requirements specify that the radar indicators must be easily readable and the speed range should cover 30 km/h to 150 km/h. Additionally, the radar must be well-built for sufficient strength and stability
