Public Input Sought In Karnataka Over Paid Menstrual Leave Proposal

The Karnataka government is seeking public opinion on a proposal to grant women workers six days of paid menstrual leave per year. This initiative aims to improve the well-being of women in various sectors, including factories, garment industries, multinational companies, and the IT sector, ultimately leading to increased efficiency and morale. The deadline for submitting feedback is within November 29, 2024.

TRAI directions under the Standards of Quality of Service of Access (Wireline and Wireless) and Broadband (Wireline and Wireless) Service Regulations, 2024

Every service provider shall publish, for the information of the consumers, its performance with respect to the benchmark of QoS parameters as may be directed by the Authority from time to time and shall publish on its website the service wise geospatial coverage maps in such a manner and format, as may be directed by the Authority from time to time, for the geographical areas where wireless voice or wireless broadband service is available for subscription by consumers.

Telecommunications (Telecom Cyber Security) Rules, 2024

Every telecommunication entity shall conduct periodic telecom cyber security audits of its network to assess resilience to threats on telecom cyber security through its own mechanisms and through the certified agency in such intervals as may be specified by the Central Government on the portal, and share the audit report with the Central Government, which may undertake further audits if so required.

Extension of the last date to receive comments/counter-comments on TRAI’s Consultation Paper on ‘Framework for Service Authorisations for provision of Broadcasting Services under the Telecommunications Act, 2023

Keeping in view the requests of some of the stakeholders for an extension of time for submission of comments, it has been decided to extend the last dates for submission of written comments and counter-comments up to 27thNovember 2024and 4th December 2024 respectively. No further requests for extension would be considered.
