Government of Karnataka permits private medical establishments to run COVID care centres
The Government of Karnataka has allowed private medical establishments registered under Karnataka private medical establishments act to establish and manage Coronavirus (COVID-19) care centres in collaboration with hotel facilities. Guidelines for the same is issued.
NPPA directs manufacturers to intimate details regarding production of drug methyl prednisolone, enoxaparin and dexamethasone
The Manufacturers shall intimate the details regarding the production/sale of drug methyl prednisolone, enoxaparin and dexamethasone during the last two years and the details regarding the stock lying with the company. Further, they shall intimate the production schedule for next 6 months and details of suppliers to whom they are sourcing the above drugs and the details of procurement orders placed by the state government in the format enclosed.
Government of Karnataka issues direction to laboratories for entering COVID-19 reports in ICMR portal
The State Government of Karnataka has issued instructions to COVID-19 testing laboratories to mark the sample as “under process” till the final report is uploaded. The government has proposed to send the test result through SMS to the suspect based on the negative result uploaded by the testing lab on the ICMR portal and directs the laboratories to discontinue the practice of uploading all samples received as negative.
Jharkhand PCB issues show-cause notice to 215 hospitals for non-compliance of norms
The Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board has issued the show-cause notice to which the hospitals shall submit their reply within 15th July 2017 to the member secretary, if not legal action as per the provisions of the relevant law shall be initiated against the hospital for non-compliance.
Health Ministry issues guidelines for maintaining mental health during COVID pandemic
The Ministry of Health and Family welfare on 4th July 2020 has issued guidelines for effective mental health management in general medicine and specialized mental health care settings in the times of COVID-19.
Revised guidelines for Home Isolation of very mild/pre-symptomatic/asymptomatic COVID-19 cases
In view of large number of asymptomatic cases being detected, the current guidelines have been extended to asymptomatic positive cases. pre-symptomatic/asymptomatic cases cases should have the requisite facility at their residence for self-isolation and also for quarantining the family contacts.
Health ministry further revises clinical management protocol for Covid-19
Under the revised protocol, the drug remdesivir is allowed under emergency use authorization and may be used in patients with moderate disease. The loading dose of 200 mg (shot) on day 1, will now be followed by 100 mg (shot) daily for 4 days (total 5 days). Earlier, the follow-up dose was for 5 days.
