Ministry of AYUSH issues Guidelines for Central Sector Scheme for Ayurgyan

Formerly, the Ministry had two separate schemes for the promotion of AYUSH’s education and Research. The Ministry, through these guidelines, now proposes to merge both schemes under one umbrella scheme namely “AYURGYAN Scheme” to support Education, Research & Innovation in AYUSH by providing academic activities., training, Capacity Building etc.

CDSCO requests that Samples of Cough Syrup not be submitted to CDTL Mumbai Lab

CDSCO has observed that based on data for 21st June, 2023, CDTL Mumbai Lab has 93 samples of cough syrup under testing.. Hence it has instructed all manufacturers and exporters in the state of Maharashtra to refrain from submitting any samples to CDTL Mumbai Lab until it completes analysis and release of pending reports.

CDSCO to update Number of Batches of Cough Syrups at Different Labs

This measure is intended to foster work distribution among the labs and release of test reports in a timely manner. Hence, drug manufacturers/ exporters can view this information and submit their samples to laboratories having fewer samples as compared to other labs.

NPPA fixes the Retail Price of 23 New Drugs

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed the retail price of 23 formulations under Drugs (Price Control) order 2013. The price so fixed is exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST). The order for fixation of price was issued on 8th June, 2023.

Surrogacy (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2023

The Amendment Rules include a new clause in the Surrogacy Rules. The addition of this clause aims to define the term “Couple of Indian Origin” in the context of surrogacy arrangements in India.
