CDSCO permits applicants of Class C & D Medical Device Licences to continue Operations
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has issued a circular clarifying that an existing manufacturer or importer of Class C or Class D medical devices can continue to import/ manufacture these devices till 12th April, 2024. This circular has been issued with the view to limit the disruption to business continuity.

BIS introduces Standards for several Plant Products used in Traditional Medicine
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has introduced 33 standards for plant products used in traditional medicine. Additionally, BIS has also introduced a new standard, for smart transportation, i.e. IS 18311 : 2023 Smart Community Infrastructures — Smart Transportation for Rapid Transit in and Between Large City Zones and their Surrounding Areas — Guidelines.

The revised list provides the name of the medical device testing laboratories, their respective registration numbers and their scope of testing-the list of medical devises they are authorized to conduct medical devise testing and diagnosis on.
