ESCI guidelines for development of ln-house Dialysis Services at ESIC Hospitals and integration with Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program
The Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program (PMNDP), launched in 2016 ls a mission to provide dialysis services to the patients under this program. ln-house mode haemodialysis services development is an integral component of this program. The ESIC Hospitals are directed to develop ln-house haemodialysis facilities for better care, integrated service delivery for critical patients and overall beneficiary satisfaction.
Nominations Invited for National Florence Nightingale Nurses Award 2024
The National Florence Nightingale Nurses Award is given as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by nursing professionals in the country. It is open to nurses employed in central, state/ UTs, private, missionary and voluntary organisation. The award consists of cash of Rs. 50,000, a certificate and a medal.
Government Eases Timelines for Formation of State Allied and Healthcare Councils
This amendment is intended to provide flexibility to the State Governments and Union Territories in complying with the provisions of National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021, recognizing the practical difficulties they may face in meeting the earlier deadlines. It is expected to enable a smoother and more systematic establishment of the State Allied and Healthcare Councils and promote effective regulation of allied and healthcare professions.
BIS revises Standards for certain Elements, Medical Instruments and Electrical Products
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has revised certain standards for certain Elements, Medical Instruments and Electrical Products. This notification was published on 1st November, 2023. The standards have been established from 2nd October, 2023 and the previous versions stand withdrawn from 2nd November, 2023.

The aim of this project is to develop the DDRS as a unified digital ecosystem that will replace existing portals. DDRS is envisioned to be a Single Window, Single Sign On, and Unified Portal for all regulatory activities in the field of pharmaceuticals. The development of DDRS represents a significant step towards enhancing regulatory systems in India, ensuring the availability of quality medicines for the country and the world.
Applications for PAC in Vaccine Clinical Trials Now Online
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has issued a circular on the launch of the online system Post Approval Changes (PAC) with respect to the clinical trials of vaccines and associated approvals. With the introduction of the online system of SUGAM portal, the CDSCO seeks to streamline the regulatory submission procedure.

‘Ayurveda Day’ event on 10th November 2023
Under the ‘Ayurveda for One Health’ campaign, farmers across the country are being sensitized through meetings, interactions, events and using various means of communication. A micro website www.ayurvedaday.org.in has been developed by CCRAS (Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences), the nodal agency for organizing the Ayurveda Day. Visitors across the globe can visit the website to get information about ‘Ayurveda Day’ and become a part of various running activities related to the ‘Ayurveda for One Health’ campaign.
