The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has issued an advisory on its webpage to take preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 and has advised companies and LLPs to implement work from home policy to their staff as part of encouraging social distancing.

Central pollution Control Board issues guidelines for disposal of waste generated during treatment/diagnosis of COVID-19 Patients
The Central Pollution Control board on 18th March 2020 has published guidelines for management of waste generated during diagnostics and treatment of COVId-19 suspected/confirmed patients which is to be followed by every hospital, isolation centers, laboratories and common bio-medical waste treatment and disposal facilities.
The Government of Maharashtra Passes COVID-19 Regulation 2020
The State Government of Maharashtra on 14th March 2020 has passed the Maharashtra COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 in lieu of the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the state. This regulations shall be valid for a period of 1 year from the date of publication of this notification.

Ministry of health and family welfare proposes to rename blood bank as blood centers
The Ministry of Health and Family welfare has published Drugs and cosmetics (Second Amendment) Rules 2020 to further amend the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945. The amendment prescribes the qualification for staffs conducting blood donation camps and the criteria for blood donation has been substituted.

The Minister of Health and Family has introduced The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020 in Lok Sabha on 2nd March 2020 which seeks to amend section 3 of Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 to extend the upper limit for medical termination pregnancy to 24 weeks from the present stipulated of 20 weeks for certain category of women which may be prescribed by the central government.
Ministry Of Commerce And Industry lifts the ban on export of personal protection equipment
The Ministry Of Commerce And Industry in its notification dated 25th February 2020 has allowed the export of a list of personal protection equipment and removed surgical masks and gloves, except synthetic rubber ones etc. from the list of banned items.
CDSCO shall process the application for manufacturing/import of new drugs within 7 working days
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization(CDSCO) vide its notification dated 20th February 2020 has directed all state drug controllers to give bioavailability-bioequivalence (BA/BE) study approvals for export and also approvals for manufacturing, import of new drugs for test and analysis within seven days under the New Drugs and Clinical Trials Rules, 2019.
