Department of Consumer Affairs notifies online submission of applications for Registration of importer of Weights & Measures and Registration of Manufacturer/ Packer/ Importer of packaged commodities.
After 1st January 2021 only online request for Registration of importer of Weights & Measures and Registration of Manufacturer/ Packer/ Importer of packaged commodities shall be entertained.
Government of West Bengal brings in amendment to west Bengal legal metrology Rules, 2011.
The Amendment is brought under Rules 11(2) which deals with auto renewal of the licenses which has been substituted, stating that all licenses issued to manufacturers, repairers, and dealers of weights and measures shall be renewed automatically upon payment of the requisite fees and submission of the appropriate form set out in Schedule-II-B, for such period as may be applied or notified by the law.

Legal Metrology (Approval of Models) Rules amended: increase in fee for testing weights, measures and Instruments
The Department of Consumer Affairs has issued the Legal Metrology (Approval of Models) (Amendment) Rules, 2019 on 6th November 2019. The amendment has enabled the applicant to carry out compliances like payment of fees for testing weighs and measures and publication of model certificate through online means.
