Revised BIS quality control orders for metals

These Goods shall conform to revised Indian Standard and shall bear the Standard Mark under a licence from the Bureau of Indian Standards in accordance with Scheme-1 of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules, 2023

The rules revise the declarations to be made on packages of electronic products. The rules have stated that the package of electronic products shall declare the name of the manufacturer or packer or importer on the package itself. It shall also inform the consumers to scan the QR code for the address and other related information, if such information is declared through the QR Code and not declared on the package itself.

Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules, 2023

These Amendment Rules have revised the implementation date for the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022. The previous implementation date, which was stated as the 1st day of June 2023, has been extended to the 1st day of July 2023.

Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution notifies the Declaration of Mandatory Information on the Outer Retail Packages

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has issued a notification on the declaration of mandatory information on the outer retail package. The notification was issued on 18th January, 2023. It shall now also be ensured that the MRP, net quantity, and date of expiry/ use by date (wherever applicable) are declared on the outer packaging of all the packages, packed inside the combination/ group/ multi-piece/ gift package.
