Consultative Committee of Ministry of Steel meets to discuss first ever initiative to introduce labeling and branding of steel sector’s products
The Consultative Committee meeting for the Ministry of Steel was convened to discuss the progress on the first-of-its kind novel initiative by the Ministry of Steel and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to introduce branding and labelling of ‘Made-in-India’ steel products in the global market. Apart from making Indian steel products more attractive to buyers, this would also ensure standardized quality of goods.
Copper (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2023
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority in respect of the copper products. Any person, who contravenes the provisions of this Order, shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) (Amendment) Rules, 2023
The Commencement of Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2022 is further extended from 1st day of October, 2023 till 1st day of January, 2024.

Miscellaneous Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2023
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority in respect of the Miscellaneous Steel Products. Any person, who contravenes the provisions of this Order, shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
Precision Roller and Bush Chains, attachments and associated chain sprockets (Quality Control) Order, 2023
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority in respect of the Precision Roller and Bush Chains, attachments and associated chain sprockets. Any person, who contravenes the provisions of this Order, shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
Self- Contained Drinking Water Cooler (Quality Control) Order, 2023
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority in respect of the Self- Contained Drinking Water Coolers. Any person, who contravenes the provisions of this Order, shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Order, 2023
The Bureau of Indian Standards shall be the certifying and enforcing authority in respect of the agro textile goods or article. Any person, who contravenes the provisions of this Order, shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
DPIIT notifies Quality Control Order for ‘Flux Cored Solder Wire’
DPIIT has notified Flux Cored Solder Wire (Quality Control) Order, 2023 which includes a specific type of solder wire that has flux in the center of the wire. Without flux, wire solder would be difficult to use. It is used in soldering electronic components, automobiles, telecommunication and diverse engineering industries.
