UGC brings all higher educational institutes under ABC regulation.

The Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) framework is part of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and will allow higher education institutions to maintain a digital repository of credits earned by students; under ABC, students can choose to study one course in a year in one institution and switch to another one the next year.

Ministry of electronic invites application under Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme from domestic semiconductor chip design firms.

The approved applicants that claim incentives under the scheme will be encouraged to retain their domestic status (i.e., more than 50% of the capital in it is beneficially owned by resident Indian citizens and/ or Indian companies, which are ultimately owned and controlled by resident Indian citizens) for a period of three years after claiming incentives under the scheme.

UGC directs all Academic Institutions to accept documents published in DigiLocker as valid.

The Digital locker platform of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has the facility to pull students’ degree marksheet and other documents into the issued documents section in an electronic form once uploaded through the DigiLocker NAD(National Academic Depository) platform by the original issuer. These electronic records available on DigiLocker platform are valid documents as per the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

UGC mandates colleges/universities to implement revised procedure for students to file online anti ragging affidavit

UGC through circular has requested all colleges and universities to implement the revised procedure for students to file online anti ragging affidavit communicated and display the email address and contact number of the Nodal Officer of Anti Ragging of your university/college in your website and campus areas like Admission Centre, Departments, Library, Canteen, Hostel, and Common.

University Grants Commission (Establishment and Operation of Academic Bank of Credits in Higher Education) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2021

The amendment provides that all Universities in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, a Provincial Act or a State Act; the institutions Deemed-to be Universities declared as such by University Grants Commission the Autonomous Colleges and or Institutions of National Importance as declared by Government of India are eligible to register with Academic Bank of Credits.
