UGC issues guidelines for Promotion of Physical fitness, Sports, Students health, Welfare, psychological and emotional Well Being at Higher educational institutions of India.
All HEIs in India may make or amend their Ordinances, regulatory provisions, and other rules accordingly to ensure that the directions given in these guidelines are implemented in the best interest of students.
The National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Amendment Regulations, 2022.
The application shall be submitted online electronically on National Council for Teacher Education portal along with the processing fee, as applicable, and scanned copies of required documents including no objection certificate issued by the concerned affiliating body, original registered land document and the document indicating that the society or institution applying for the programme possesses land on the date of application issued by competent authority.
Higher educational institutions may consider conducting MPhil/PhD viva voce examination through offline/vedio-conferencing.
As per the guidelines, “the universities may conduct PhD and MPhil viva-voce examinations through video-conferencing using Google, Skype, Microsoft Technologies or any other reliable and mutually convenient technology, subject to the approval of the concerned statutory authority of the university, in compliance to regulations regarding award of MPhil, PhD degree.”
University Grants Commission (Academic Collaboration between Indian and Foreign Higher Educational Institutions to offer Twinning, Joint Degree and Dual Degree Programmes) Regulations, 2022.
The Indian Higher Educational Institutions shall obtain the approval of its appropriate authority, like Board of Governors/Board of Management/Syndicate/Executive Council for academic collaboration with any Foreign Higher Educational Institution. Academic infrastructure, including laboratory, library and workshop facilities of the Indian Higher Educational Institutions shall meet the requirements of the relevant professional Statutory Councils/ Bodies.
DCI directs dental institutions to issue advertisements against ragging through signboards, pamphlets etc before the commencement of academic year.
As per DCI Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Dental Colleges, 2009, it is the responsibility of all the institution to ensure that no incident of ragging takes place in their dental institution and measures taken to curb it may be reviewed.

DCI directs counselling authorities to issue allotment number & date for students at each round of Counselling.
DCI had earlier directed all the college authorities of dental colleges to upload the complete details of students admitted in UG/PG Courses at their dental institutions for each academic session, on DCI Website. While uploading the students’ details “allotment letter number and date” are mandatory fields, but it has come in the notice of DCI that “allotment letter number and date” are not being issued by counselling authorities of some states.

The amendment provides for revision of retirement age for Director of the Institute from sixty five years to seventy years. It also removes the age requirement for applying for the post of director of institute.
Government of Goa notifies scheme for students in the field of science & technology.
The scope of the scheme is to provide financial support in form of grant-in-aid to maximum 60 High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools every year to conduct science workshops/ /exhibition/seminars/awareness programme in the field of Science and Technology and Innovations.
