The guidelines seeks to Strengthen institutions by adding departments in subjects such as: Languages, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Indology, Art, Dance, Theatre, Education, Mathematics, Statistics, Pure and Applied Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Sports, Translation and Interpretation and other subjects as needed for a multidisciplinary institution.

AICTE notifies Guidelines for inclusive education for all including persons with disabilities.
Every institution should create a cell/unit with the primary objective of ensuring inclusion of students with disability in the teaching-learning process. These cells be adequately funded both in terms of required resources as well as trained manpower. These units should also monitor progress by taking periodic feedback from students with disability.
National Rail and Transportation Institute declared as a deemed University under UGC Act
The amendment provides that the National Rail and Transportation Institute, Vadodara, Gujarat, declared as a deemed to be University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, shall be established as a body corporate under this Act by the name Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.
