NMC issues notice on Online Filing of information of admissions in for postgraduate medical broad specialty and super specialty courses

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice on admissions to Medical Colleges/ Postgraduate Institutes. The notice relates to admissions to postgraduate medical broad specialty and super specialty courses on the basis of NEET- PG 2022 and NEET- SS 2022. The online portal for filling up the details of candidates who have taken admission in PG broad specialty and super specialty courses will be reopened from 13th to 17th January, 2023. All concerned colleges/ institutes are required to fill in the requisite data by the 17th January, 2023.

UGC issues a notification on its Strategy for National Suicide Prevention

The notice acknowledges that suicide is a tragic loss of life that impacts those living with the loss and society as a whole. It goes on to state that with the right interventions suicide is preventable. Hence UGC requests higher educational institutions to take action as listed in the National Suicide Prevention Strategy on a priority basis.

PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme for Young Authors (YUVA) 2.0

Scholarship of Rs. 50,000 per month for a period of six months to be paid to each of the selected 75 authors. The higher educational institutions are requested to disseminate the information about the scheme to all the students and other stakeholders to encourage greater participation in this prestigious scheme

UGC launches “Stay Safe Online” Campaign

All Higher Educational institutions are requested to conduct awareness programs on cyber safety regularly through quizzes, group discussions, essay writing competitions, etc. from December 2022 to November 2023.

‘SMART’ Programme Launched for Ayurveda Professionals to boost R&D in Ayurveda

The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) have launched ‘SMART’ (Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research in Teaching Professionals) program aimed to boost scientific research in priority healthcare research areas through Ayurveda colleges and hospitals. The program was launched on 2nd January, 2023 by the Chairman of NCISM and the Director General of CCRAS in the presence of the President of Board of Ayurveda, NCISM and other senior officials.
